I would like to work on interactive 'huggable sculptures' that can be played like an instrument using capacitive touch skin based triggering.
For the last 3 years I have been developing works that invite strangers to become musical collaborators by wiring up everyday objects to trigger sounds by being touched by participants. I have been experimenting with microcontrollers such as the Arduino and Raspberry Pi, using capacitive and resistive touch to trigger sounds (similar to the technology that recognises your finger on your smart-phone).
I have interest from Melbourne Fringe for these sculptures to be installed in various locations around Melbourne for the 2018 Melbourne Fringe and I would use this residency as a creative development for this work.
