Our studios are as individual as the artists that inhabit them, each offer a unique work/live space. The Butter Room Studio and the Balcony Studio are currently occupied by long stay artists-in-residence.
All residents have the use of the shared equipment and facilities; a small material work space, kiln room, pottery equipment, Venco pottery wheels, Woodrow electric kiln and painting easels. There are shared out door toilet and laundry facilities, washing machine, dryer and cloths line. All residents are welcome to use the gardens, grounds, main gallery space, artists lounge and bar including the la marzocco linea espresso coffee machine. All studios have access to WiFi but there is limited mobile services Telstra sim cards do work in most areas. We recommend using a Skype account for contacting home. A phone(land line) is in the Gallery if required. We have a couple of bicycles available as we back on to the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail great for walking and cycling. The gallery and residential studios are smoke free zones.
The Garden Studio is a free standing cottage in a private area of the grounds. It is a fully furnished single story studio with open plan living space; bedroom (double bed) kitchen, lounge, dining area with private shower, toilets are in a shared outdoor facility near the main building. It has a split system air conditioner/heater, wood heater, TV, WiFi, fully equipped kitchen with; electric hotplates, oven, microwave, toaster, electric jug, fridge/freezer, and a large bay window with views across the garden, a perfect work space. Suitable for both singles or couples.
The Janina Suite is contained in the main building on the second story on the eastern end of the building above the gallery. It has been created for shorter stays. It is most suitable for writers, photographers and those that do not require a messy work space. It has a separate bedroom (double bed) that adjoins the open plan kitchen living space with private toilet and bathroom facilities, including a bath. It has small fridge, microwave oven, single electric hotplate, electric frying pan, toaster and jug. It has a small loft work space other equipment includes a TV, WiFi and electric panel heating. It has views across the surrounding farming land and mountain range.
The Butter Room Studio is part of the main building and was originally the butter packing room. It is on the south east corner of the building. It is a split level, fully furnished apartment with live/work space on the ground floor and bedroom on the mezzanine floor. It has a split system air conditioner heater, wood heater, TV, WIFI , fully equipped kitchen with; electric hotplates, oven, microwave, toaster, electric jug, fridge/freezer, with direct access to the gallery space and to the garden courtyard. The shower and toilet are shared outdoor facilities. Currently occupied by a long term Artist-in-Residence and Assistant Gallery Manager Claire Marston.
The Balcony Studio is in the southwest wing of the building and has an entrance both from the foyer of the gallery and a private door from the courtyard garden. The studio comprises two open plan balcony spaces. It has WiFi and a fully equipped kitchenette, small living/dining area and double bed. It has shared external bathroom, toilet and laundry facilities. Currently occupied by a long term Artist-in-residence Bill Young, painter.
