Latrobe Valley artist Amanda Thompson shares a passion for printmaking and a studio with Kate Zizys founder of Greenworks Press. Mandy's large scale woodcut represents the conflicting images of the region known for its picturesque landscape both rural and natural and the abrupt disfigurement of the natural environment that is required for the electricity we are all addicted to. The lines on her rough-hewn wood cuts are more akin to the scrumbling of a dog eared brush.  The texture and the claustrophobic line and hatching  give the work  the appropriate grunge of the industrial landscape.
