Black & White Susan Purdy and Susan Fraser July 2011

Photograms by SUSAN PURDY &  Linocut Prints by SUSAN FRASER
Black-and-white imagery speaks of immediacy and transparency it explores darkness and light in all its interpretations. For both artists it is the quality of the black and the absence, that is the white, that defines their work.  Fraser’s linocut technique harks back to early woodcuts and Purdy’s photograms relates more to printmaking than to contemporary photography techniques.
